A natural pigment-antioxidant feed supplement for layers

One of the most marketable feature of an egg is its yolk color. Since birds cannot synthesize pigments, the egg yolk color is totally dependent on the pigment content of feed and feed ingredients. Egxanthin is a natural pigment based product with a combination of two natural pigment sources, designed specifically to enhance the pigmentation of yolk. Egxanthin contains xanthophyll based carotenoids derived from two natural sources; Tagetes erecta (Marigold) and Capsicum annum (Paprika). Egxanthin actives are saponified to a grade more than 95.0% to ensure purity, stability, quality and performance.

Our trial data suggests that the color index of egg yolk reaches the Roche color yolk fan value within a period of 12 days under controlled rearing conditions. Egxanthin is provided as two color variants, the Egxanthin-Y containing pigments from Marigold and Egxanthin-R containing Paprika pigments. The two natural color variants are recommended to be supplemented at optimal ratio and concentration to obtain the desired yolk color.
